WINTER TRIPS AND EXPEDITIONS

NOW Outdoors is a recognized leader in the region when it comes to cold weather camping, expeditions, and polar training.

Winter is a season full of beauty and adventure. Let NOW Outdoors help you make the most of it! For those who love the idea of embracing Wisconsin's snowy landscapes and mastering new skills, NOW Outdoors has an exciting lineup of winter trips that will inspire, educate, and empower outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels.

Our annual Winter Camping Workshop is a premiere symposium style event dedicated to helping outdoor enthusiasts learn how to embrace the cold. This jam-packed family friendly weekend of interactive sessions, keynote speakers, and youth program is the BEST way to kick off the winter season. Check out the event page for more details.

We also host the nation's largest winter gathering for hammock camping enthusiasts known as the Wisconsin Frozen Butt Hang. This event draws hammock campers from all corners of the country to "hang out" in the beauty of the north woods. This event is geared towards experienced winter campers and has a reputation for incredible food and great company. Check out the link below.

Guided Trips:

Take your winter skills to the next level with our premium guided trips. These adventures allow you to put your skills into practice in real-world conditions, experiencing the thrill and challenge of backcountry winter camping, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and more. Our weekend trips are great for those who want to learn how to set up camp, stay warm, and enjoy the wilderness even in cold temperatures. We have a beginner level snowshoe trip scheduled this January. We also offer custom private trips. With knowledgeable guides by your side, you’ll feel confident as you learn new skills with a small group of fellow adventurers.

Our exclusive week-long and multi week winter expeditions in the US and abroad are not for everyone. These are challenging adventures for experienced winter travelers ready to embrace extreme cold temperatures in butt deep snow. We have two "Big" trips on the calendar for February 2025. If you're interested in one of these, please complete the questionnaire during registration and reach out with any questions.
