About the Event
Join us for our annual Porcupine Mountains Backpacking trip. Limited to just 10 participants, this beautiful 18-mile stretch is intended for intermediate backpackers due to the rugged terrain and remote location. Each day, we will travel along the Lake Superior shoreline through old growth forest. We'll hike to our designated site each day and enjoy the spectacular views of the lakeshore, rain or shine (hopefully just shine). The back country campsites have basic fire rings and bear poles for hanging food. There will be plenty of opportunities for swimming and snapping fall photos. We will check out some great waterfalls too! Northern lights over the lake are also a possibility if we're lucky. All meals are included as well as water purification both in camp and on trail.
Difficulty: Intermediate
This hike is intended for experienced backpackers due to cooler fall temperatures, shorter days, remote location, and rugged terrain. The ability to travel light makes a big difference on this hike.
